big game?

I was back in West Des Moines this weekend. Brett wanted to go to a show at House of Bricks to see the band Every Other Thursday play. They were really quite good. I was impressed, then came some death metal band, not quite my style, but I could appreciate that they were good at what they were supposed to be playing, that's about as far as my admiration went.

Hung out with a few people, Hunter, Stephanie, Brittany, Tara, you know...the friends I can't go without. Watched some old school Mary-Kate and Ashley movies and just ate food. It was a good time. Ya know, just relaxing no big parties or anything. It was nice.

Sunday I had to say goodbye to Heather who has been the best small group leader I could ask for, she's moving to Tennesee. Colleen couldn't make it though so it was almost all 5 of us. We spent a good deal of time discussing with great fervor our theories for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" the seventh and final book in our beloved Harry Potter series. I think Ron and Voldemort will die, however, Brittany and Heather still think that Harry and Voldemort will be the ones to go. We'll see July 21 I s'pose.

Then came the big event, the Superbowl. I obviously rooted for the Colts as I have a general hatred toward the Chicago Cubs...and well, the Bears are grouped in there by association. Thankfully my cheering was not in vain. Mostly, I just like to watch for the commercials, my favorites were the office ones in the wild and the lions saying "carrrrne."

After some minor car issues Brett and I made it back up to Ames by around 10. I love coming back here, it's home.

It's so cold though, walking to class is horrible. Cyride is my new favorite thing.

Oh and Psych 101 reading is going to consume my life.

i loved the commercial about conectile disfunction and the one where the cool thing to do is to slap someone in the face. brilliant. although i don't think either ad worked cause i don't remember who they were for.

the tentative senior trip schedule consists of a 48 hour round trip to Chi-town and back. i don't think we even have any events scheduled; its just kind of a wandering experience. thanks for your comment.
